Coleen Rooney gave husband Wayne a piece of her mind in an episode of The Real Rooneys after he stayed out partying all night during a family holiday. The couple invited the cameras into their home for a year to document the highs and lows of their marriage, family life and work endeavours, with Coleen promising to show a side of themselves the public have never seen. And in one of the low points documented of their relationship, Coleen was furious with her husband after he left her to deal with their four sons while he nursed a hangover from a wild night out. But when your husband’s back, you want him to share the load.’Coleen then confirmed: ‘We’re not really on good terms at the minute… Today’s been a good day but Wayne hasn’t been able to help out much.’ Pulling Wayne aside to confront him, Coleen said: ‘You been dying today on this beach? You’ve had hardly any sleep. ‘It’s been a bit of a lads’ holiday for you hasn’t it. Staying up all night with your mates.’ Wayne looked on blankly, before mumbling: ‘It’s hard, I’ve said to you before. When the season’s finished now I’m not working, not doing anything, it’s tough.’ Yet Coleen wasn’t having it, responding: ‘I know but how many years have you had to get used to it? So every time you’re off you can’t just keep doing what you’re doing. ‘Especially when it’s meant to be a family holiday ’cause it’s not fair on everyone else. ‘You wonder why I moan and I get called the moaner off everyone, but it’s me picking up the pieces all the time and you’re making it harder for me!’ As Wayne looked on with a vacant expression, it cut to Coleen confessional saying: ‘The thing is, he’s not an arguer, and sometimes I do want him to give me something back. ‘It’s like arguing with a brick wall… I do love him but sometimes I think it’d be better to see what we’re like separated.’Back in the argument, Coleen continued: ‘So I just never come home and then I didn’t get up in the morning and take care of the kids – what would the kids do then? ‘No one’s making you do it, but it never changes, it always happens and it’s like – is that going to be life? It’s only you that can fix it because no one else can do it.’ An uncomfortable pause followed before Wayne said in response: ‘What time’s the restaurant booked?’ prompting Coleen to exclaim: ‘Pardon?!’ and storm off. Coleen then said to the camera: ‘At this moment in time we’re not best friends. I know what she was saying really, that bringing four young boys up is tough. ‘I want to be better, I want to be the best husband, dad, I can be. I take that responsibility seriously.’ With Wayne in the doghouse, Coleen’s parents came to the rescue as they spoke about how they’ve stayed happy in their own marriage. Tony mused: ‘There’s always been respect there, she’s respected me and I’ve respected her.’You go through ups and downs and you’re lucky to stay together. As time goes on you realise how much people mean to you.’ Colette then told Wayne that they had renewed their vows, and asked whether he’d be open to doing the same with Coleen. ‘We nearly did in Vegas!’ Wayne revealed, explaining they headed to a wedding chapel on the strip but upon finding it closed they gave up and went to McDonald’s. Reflecting on their turbulent marriage, Coleen told the cameras: ‘We still love each other but we just need to know how to communicate together because we’re lucky to have each other.’ Meanwhile, Wayne mused: ‘Marriage is tough and you need to put the work in and the time and dedication. She’s the woman I always wanted to be with for the rest of my life and that’s still the case.’ Elsewhere in the series, Coleen and Wayne shared an insight into their marital tiffs, when the footballer confessed: ‘We haven’t spoke for four days, this is the first time we’ve talked,’ as they sat on their sofa to speak to the cameras.
