Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz took a break from their Film Festival jaunts to visit one of France’s historic war memorials with her family on Tuesday.The couple recently flew out of Venice after gracing the red carpet at the film event, where Nicola was honoured with a coveted Rising Star gong.Brooklyn and Nicola put on an amorous display with her parents Nelson and Claudia as they visited D-Day’s Normandy American Cemetery.The family were taken on a tour of the grounds, before visiting Omaha Beach, one of the D-Day Normandy landing sites.Nicola and Brooklyn’s trip to France comes ahead of her appearance at the country’s Deauville Film Festival on Tuesday, with Faye Dunaway set to be honoured with the Icon Award at the event.The cemetery honours US troops who died during the D-Day landings and throughout the Second World War, and features 9,389 graves spread over 172.5 acres. The pair attended the Kineo Awards, held during the Venice Film Festival over the weekend, where Nicola was honoured with her Rising Star award for her work as an actress, producer and budding film-maker.A visibly nervous Nicola wore stunning emerald and diamond drop earrings and an elegant full-length black dress for her moment in the spotlight, and paid tribute to her husband and family who she said ‘are the reason that I can reach to the stars’.Her proud billionaire father, business leader Nelson Peltz, mother Claudia and brother Bradley were there to watch her, with Nelson fanning himself in the 30C (86F) heat and, at times during the wait, retreating inside.She said: ‘Hi everyone. I am normally more comfortable playing a character as an actor than standing in front of an audience, so please bear with me.’Thank you so much for this immense honour. The actress and her family attended a private Los Angeles screening in May for the movie, hosted by East West Bank chief executive Dominic Ng. Afterwards she thanked supporters and said their backing of independent film meant ‘more than I can express’.The film has also been in the spotlight after Nicola sparked concern with her drastic weight loss while preparing for her starring role. Nicola undertook four months of gruelling ballerina training for her role which saw her drop to less than 100lb (45kg). Her shock weight loss came in a bid to fully embody her ballerina character – for which she committed to a strict diet and intensive training regimen. Just last week Nicola’s husband Brooklyn jumped to her defence and warned ‘don’t ever talk about my wife’ in an online row about her weight.The aspiring chef hit back in the comments section of his latest Instagram cookery tutorial after one follower asked: ‘Do you comment on everyone who is concerned about your wife and how sickly she looks? She puts herself out there, feed her.’ Brooklyn replied: ‘Don’t ever talk about my wife. She’s absolutely beautiful and you should never comment on a woman’s body. It’s disgraceful.’
