Bret Michaels expressed his disappointment about being sidelined from the stage for the rest of the year following complications in a comeback show Friday, after he underwent an emergency surgery to deal with kidney stones last month.The Poison singer, 63, took to Instagram on Sunday to explain his state of mind following the setback, after he dealt with health complications in the wake of his show in Sugar Hill, Georgia.’I always choose victory over being a victim to my disease,’ Michaels said in a post on the social media site. ‘I truly felt I would be able to do all these shows in spite of the recent medical domino effect that has occurred.’The Butler, Pennsylvania-born vocalist said he’s been working ‘diligently’ with his doctors and physical therapists in ‘adjusting all the new medication and factoring in’ other elements which contributed to health woes in the wake of Friday’s show.’It was my first show back and I wanted to give every ounce of energy I had in me,’ Michaels said. ‘With my excitement, I also forgot to factor in the coast to coast flight, which had an effect on my blood sugar & blood pressure with the new medicine adjustments, including my insulin.’ The Daily Mail has reached out to a representative for Michaels for further comment on the story, but has not heard back yet.
