Big Brother star Reggie Bird has suffered yet another job rejection, only weeks after being knocked back for a position at Subway.The beloved reality TV star, 52, recently shared a screenshot on social media of a rejection letter she received from an Aldi supermarket on the Gold Coast.’Hi Regina, Thank you for applying for the position of retail assistant with Aldi. In this instance, we are writing to let you know that we have decided not to progress with your application,’ the rejection letter read.Reggie, who is legally blind after being diagnosed with a rare degenerative eye disease, shared her frustration in the caption after being rejected for another entry-level position.’Bugger… I would have been a great checkout chick. I’m great talking to people,’ she vented.Many of Reggie’s followers took to the comments section to offer words of support. Reggie was quick to share her disappointment after being rejected by the popular sandwich chain, which employs thousands of people across Australia. ‘Bugger… I can’t even get a job making sandwiches,’ Reggie wrote.In December 2024, Reggie opened up about feeling like a failure despite winning Big Brother twice, during an appearance on the Mental As Anyone podcast.Speaking with host Jonathan Moran, the mother of two revealed that despite winning the reality competition in 2003 and 2022, she still struggles to find work. I’ve now got nine degrees of pinhole vision, no peripheral vision and no night vision left.’I only just see what’s in front of me. It’s like looking through a straw – that’s how I explain it to people,’ she said. Reggie made history when she became the first contestant to win Big Brother twice, claiming victory in 2003 and again in 2022.Despite taking home $250,000 in prize money across her two Big Brother victories, she has struggled financially over the years.Reggie is also affected by Usher syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that impacts both hearing and vision.
