BBC Radio 1 DJ Yasmin Evans has announced she is pregnant with her first child.Taking to Instagram on Friday, the radio star, 35, shared snaps of her showing off her growing baby bump while posing for a stunning photoshoot. Dressed in a white bralette, a dramatic ruffled bolero and matching trousers, Yasmin looked radiant as she tenderly touched her stomach and posed with a bunch of sunflowers. Captioning her post, Yasmin penned: ‘The storm changed us forever, but so did the rainbow that followed.’The presenter also shared some images to her Instagram stories, revealing that her husband took the photos in their garden while also hinting at a difficult fertility journey.She wrote: ‘My husband took these photos of us, in our garden at home. Congrats beaut, yummy mummy! So happy for you both.’Yasmin’s pregnancy announcement comes one year after marrying her husband, whose identity she has chosen not to reveal publicly. In August last year she revealed that they’d tied the knot the previous month, sharing a series of snaps of herself in a bridal skirt suit alongside the caption: ‘We double-barrelled in July. Next stop, the destination.’Yasmin is well known for her shows on BBC Radio 1 in addition to 1Extra and Heart Radio.The Stockport native has also carved out a television presenting career, with stints on CBBC’s Saturday Mash-Up, The BRITs livestream and Celebrity Karaoke Club.In 2020, Yasmin appeared in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, which saw her rushed to hospital with trench foot – the condition known to plague the trenches of the First World War.The illness is caused by prolonged exposure to damp, unsanitary, and cold conditions – with Yasmin and the likes of Anthea Turner and Katie Price taking on the brutal wilds of Scotland on the Channel 4 endurance series. I looked down at my feet and I just thought, “This is not OK.” My toenails were almost hanging off.’She elaborated further on Instagram Live following the show, explaining: ‘I really suffered from having two major infections in my feet. Your socks are constantly wet. It’s a World War injury.’The boots are really hard. Basically my toenail was black and one of them was split in the middle and was constantly bleeding.’Yasmin said she wouldn’t shy away from taking part in the show again, but that she’d ‘rip off’ her toenails first because ‘they’re going to fall out anyway’.
