Good weather, sandy beaches and good value for money can feel difficult to find when booking a holiday abroad.
With the Easter holidays approaching in March, many will be seeking sun and affordability.
Fortunately, it is possible to find destinations that fit the bill – and Travel Supermarket’s latest research reveals exactly where.
It names four spots that are both hot – with temperatures over 20°C – and on a budget, all under £800 per person.
Holidaymakers can find a good-value getaway away in locations across Spain, Portugal and Morocco.
Algarve, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote and Agadir all come under the £800 per person price range and hit the ‘sweet spot’ of also boasting warm temperatures.
Located in Portugal’s southernmost region, the Algarve is a perfect spot to catch some sun without splashing the cash over Easter.
The average price per person works out at £520 per person and the coastal destination has average highs of 21°C in March.
Lanzarote offers slightly warmer temperatures of 23°C and works out at just £200 more than the Algarve.
The research shows holidaymakers can bag trips there for around £758 per person.
Over in Morocco, Agadir closely follows in price and temperature at £765 per person and highs of 24°C over Easter.
While Fuerteventura comes in at £800 per person on average with highs of 22°C.
‘For families with the Easter holidays starting in March, temperature really does matter – nobody wants to book a beach holiday and end up reaching for a jumper,’ says Chris Webber, head of holidays and deals at TravelSupermarket.
‘These four destinations are the ones where the maths works on both fronts. The Algarve in particular is a standout – it’s the most affordable option and still comfortably clears the 20°C mark, which for late March is genuinely impressive.’
For those who want to save even more money and don’t mind cooler temperatures, there are destinations that can provide just that for around £500.
Menorca sees temperatures of 15°C on average in March but costs just £436 per person.
Elsewhere, Costa Dorada is almost as warm as the ‘sweet spot’ locations and is 19°C, priced at around £472.
Or if money isn’t too much of a concern when booking a trip, there are even warmer temperatures at some pricier destinations.
Tenerife comes in at £839 but boasts balmy highs of 21°C, while it’s Balearics neighbour Gran Canaria costs £876 and averages at 22°C.
Elsewhere, Marrakech sees very warm temperatures of 25°C and is priced at £819 per person.
