Scooping the Best Soap Award for the third year in a row, Corrie also won Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Storyline, Best Partnership, Best Villain, Best Exit and Best Young Performer.Corrie’s hard-hitting domestic abuse storyline, which saw Todd Grimshaw tormented by his partner Theo, was recognised with a Best Storyline, while Gareth Pierce, who plays Todd, was awarded Best Actor.James Cartwright, who played abuser Theo Silverton, was given the Best Villain award, while Daniel Brocklebank received Best Exit, after his character Billy Mayhew was left to die by Theo during January’s Corriedale cross-over.Inside Soap editor Sarah Ellis said: ‘The heartbreaking story of Todd’s abuse at the hands of his partner Theo really struck a chord with the audience, and won out against some really stellar work from the other soaps.
