It’s been a tense season on Selling Sunset, and at least one of the stars has had enough.
Nicole Young is leaving the show after four years of ‘toxic’ and ‘overly contrived dramatic circumstances,’ her representative told People.
The 40-year-old real estate agent had been reevaluating her time spent on the Netflix docu-soap since she got into a major shouting match with costar Chrishell Stause on the season nine premiere in October 2025.
The fight occurred over a group dinner during which Young was accused of being a drug user — which she denied — and Young made a controversial comment about Stause’s father and mother, both of whom had died from cancer in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
Young had worked as an agent for The Oppenheim Group for about eight years before joining the show for season six, and her spokesperson said her portrayal was ‘rather disheartening to observe.’
She did not get along with most of the Selling Sunset cast members, especially Stause.
‘Nicole was consistently placed in situations which required her to remain on the defensive, often within what can only be described as unnecessarily toxic and overly contrived dramatic circumstances,’ her representative told the outlet.
While on the show, Young was repeatedly caught in the ‘persistent position of having to defend both her character and her intentions.’
Young concluded that ‘she felt she was no longer being represented authentically,’ her representative said, adding that it was ‘entirely Nicole’s decision’ to leave the show.
Toward the end of season nine, Young revealed she was moving to Nashville with her husband, Brandon Young. The couple officially closed on their $2.3 million ‘dream home’ on March 3 this year.
In a video posted to Instagram, Young gave followers a glimpse of her new house that featured wood floors, state-of-the-art kitchen, enclosed patio and spacious deck overlooking the property.
‘It’s been a hell of a journey getting here, but we FINALLY found and bought our dream home and we couldn’t be happier!’ she wrote in the caption.
Young remains a licensed realtor in California, and while she will no longer be a part of Selling Sunset, her employment status with the Oppenheim Group remains unchanged.
‘Nicole remains deeply committed to her career and looks forward to focusing on opportunities that more accurately reflect both her professional caliber and personal integrity,’ her representative stated.
Young, who transitioned from blonde back to brunette earlier this month, is finding ways to relax in her new hometown of Nashville.
She shared a reel on Instagram of her and her husband participating in a puppy yoga class with a bunch of frolicking Dalmations.
Young was seen alternately cradling a Dalmatian pup in her arms and letting it rest on her legs during a stretch, while Brandon let the pooch relax across the back of his legs.
‘If you love dogs, this is a MUST-DO activity!’ she raved in the caption.
Meanwhile, Selling Sunset is reportedly coming back for season 10 with the return of original cast member Christine Quinn, along with Heather Rae Moussa.
Like her nemesis Young, Stause will also not be returning, telling Bustle that ‘the show was no longer good for my mental health.’
