SIr Mick Jagger’s fiancée Melanie Hamrick has revealed she was ‘physically attacked’ in Mayfair – as Rolling Stones rocker’s Epstein links were revealed.
The ballerina, 38, took to Instagram on Wednesday morning to detail what had happened to her, saying two muggers grabbed her from behind and she had been left ‘shaken and heartbroken’.
Melanie wrote: ‘This is incredibly hard to share, but I was physically attacked at Annabels Mayfair tonight.
‘I’m so thankful to my friends for protecting me. Two people grabbed me from behind and thank god for good people who stepped in to help me.
‘I’m shaken, sad and heartbroken that people can treat each other this way.’
The attack is believed to have taken place outside the private members’ club in Berkeley Square and Daily Mail has contacted the Metropolitan Police for comment.
Melanie, who danced with the American Ballet Theatre for 15 years before retiring in 2019, has been in a relationship with 82-year-old Rolling Stones rocker Sir Mick since 2014. They share a young son, Devereux.
It comes amid a series of brazen daytime heists hitting some of London‘s most expensive stores – with thieves swiping thousands of pounds worth of luxury watches, handbags and jewellery.
And the area around prestigious Berkeley Square in Mayfair has become one of the worst in the capital – and therefore in Europe – for robberies and street crime, the Daily Mail revealed.
Official figures suggest you are 30 times more likely to be a victim of crime there than elsewhere in London.
Police data showed there were 115 robberies per 1,000 residents in the local area – in contrast to London’s overall robbery rate is about 3.7 per 1,000 people over the same period between December 2024 and November 2025.
Thefts and robberies, especially targeting mobile phones, have trebled over a recent four-year period across London’s West End – with tens of thousands of reported cases and the area around Mayfair and St James’s being particularly targeted.
Some wary visitors have even resorted to hiring private security with them when venturing into the district.
Raiders ploughed a car into the front of Phillips auction house last May in a suspected attempt to steal a Damian Hirst artwork.
The vehicle was abandoned and glass was left scattered on the pavement outside the venue, which boasts round the clock security.
Nearby jewellery shops remove their stock of Rolexes and Cartiers from windows after shutting up shop for the night.
One shop worker said: ‘We cant take our eye off the ball for a minute around here.’
Meanwhile, organised criminals have been targeted prized brands such as Rolex, Yves St Laurent and a string of high-end jewellers in the capital which critics have described as ‘lawless’.
Gangs have smashed windows with sledgehammers, rode motorbikes into stores and rammed SUVs through barred doors, all to land their precious loot.
The Daily Mail revealed last month how Tom Cruise abruptly ‘deserted’ his luxury apartment in west London because the actor felt it had become too unsafe.
A source close to the Mission Impossible star, 63, said he left his £35million pad in the towering One Hyde Park building because he felt the star-studded location had ‘declined’ recently.
CCTV footage has laid bare the drastic methods thieves deploy to complete robberies worth thousands leaving police trailing in their wake.
Last month hammer-wielding thugs broke into a family-run jewellers in Richmond, south-west London – ransacking a window display while brave staff tried to fend them off.
Two men could be seen swinging a large hammer against the glass of Gregory & Co in front of stunned passersby.
The gang then peeled away the glass and filled a blue bag with some of the most expensive valuables on display.
An employee who works at a nearby store and witnessed the incident told the Daily Mail how the robbers ‘appeared out of nowhere carrying a large sledgehammer and a bag’.
They added: ‘They then started smashing the jeweller’s window up.’
Just two days earlier and several miles away, a moped gang conducted an audacious ‘high value heist’ on a jewellery shop which itself was targeted in a similar raid just over six years ago.
Police launched an urgent investigation after Sultan Jewellery in Uxbridge Road, Shepherds Bush, was attacked by several men who smashed the shop’s windows with a sledgehammer before fleeing with expensive jewellery.
That came days after a gang smashed their way into the sought-after designer store Yves St Laurent in central London and fled with a haul of luxury handbags worth up to £30,000.
Footage taken by a passer-by showed the balaclava-clad thugs clearing the shelves of the Bond Street store after ramming a black SUV through its window.
One was seen fleeing the scene on the back of a motorbike, as another clip showed the extent of the damage inflicted on the empty and battered shop.
A separate picture laid bare the aftermath of the robbery as the metal security shutters were severely damaged and pieces of glass were strewn across the floor.
Concerns have also been raised about a mobile phone theft epidemic across the capital – and further afield.
The £50million-a-year crimewave spreading across the country involves thugs speeding on scooters and bikes taking expensive phones from innocent citizens.
According to Metropolitan Police figures, 66,528 phones were stolen in the capital in the year leading up to September 2024.
Over the same period in Westminster, 22,253 thefts were reported equating to 85.4 incidents per every 1,000 people.
Among the victims has been a Bridgerton actress who was left ‘concussed and traumatised’ when her phone was seized at a cafe in west London.
Zacariah Boulares, 18, carried out the theft from rising star Genevieve Chenneour as she sat in the Joe & The Juice cafe in Kensington.
The Algerian national last May pleaded guilty to stealing the phone when he appeared before Westminster magistrates in central London.
He also pleaded guilty to common assault against Carlo Kurcishi, another customer in the same cafe, as well as a separate charge of theft after taking a black leather handbag at a pizza restaurant.
Chenneour has previously spoken of the terrifying moment she fought off the teenage thug who set upon her while she was walking her dog.
The actress, who appeared in season three of the Netflix hit show as rumour-monger Clara Livingston, told the Mail on Sunday this month: ‘They didn’t expect me to stand up for myself – but I did.’
The robbery happened when Yorkshire-born Genevieve had stopped at a branch of Joe & The Juice in west London.
She said: ‘I was left with a concussion just before the Screen Actors Guild Awards and since then, I’ve felt constantly on edge.
‘Even my dog was traumatised – now, if anyone touches me, he panics and tries to protect me.
‘Getting a coffee shouldn’t be something you need your wits about you for.’
