Christina Applegate has revealed she has become largely confined to her bed amid her battle with multiple sclerosis.
The 54-year-old actress announced her diagnosis with MS in 2021 and has been candid about the ordeal she has been facing ever since.
She shared the latest heartbreaking update in an interview with People, describing how the pain she is facing has kept her in or on her bed for a good chunk of the day.
However she does make an effort to leave for the sake of her daughter Sadie, 15, who relies on her mother to get to school and do other activities.
‘I want to take her; it’s my favorite thing to do. It’s the only time we have together by ourselves,’ she told People. ‘I tell myself, “Just get her there safely and get home so you can get back into bed.” And that’s what I do.’
She explained, ‘My life isn’t wrapped up with a bow. People’s lives, sorry for lack of a better term, f***ing suck sometimes. So I’m being as honest and raw as I possibly can.’
Applegate is now planning on releasing a memoir, You With The Sad Eyes, a book about her battle with the illness, growing up as a child star, and enduring abuse.
Inside the pages of her book, set for release on March 3, the California native will recount what it was like growing up, shedding light on domestic abuse, being molested, and growing up with a single mom.
Applegate is the daughter of actress Nancy Priddy, who struggled with heroin addiction and had an abusive boyfriend. She told the outlet: ‘I think I had kind of the worst situation from [ages] 3 to 7, but there was stuff like that going on in all our homes.
‘Single moms, men coming in and out, drugs. It’s always fun to see your mom crying on the floor and you not being taken care of.’
For her part, the blonde beauty also found herself in a romantic relationship marked by violence.
‘My mom always said, “I never met a junkie I didn’t like.” And that kind of was how I rolled,’ she admitted.
It comes after she previously opened up about her late boyfriend Lee Grivas, who died of a drug overdose in 2008 at age 26.
On a November episode of her MeSsy podcast, she said to cohost Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Sopranos actor Robert Iler, ‘My boyfriend who passed away, it was like I tried everything, right? And he still wanted to escape. When he passed away, it was just like, “F*** man.”‘

Applegate recently shared a black and white image of her with her mom as a toddler.
She captioned the Instagram post: ‘My mom. She loved me and I knew she loved me, and I felt safe with her, always. -From You with the Sad Eyes.’
And earlier this month she teased the memoir with solemn statements shared with her nearly one million followers.
‘I don’t have room for inauthenticity or hidden meanings. There’s no longer subtext when I speak. Everything I say is true, unadorned, and real,’ she declared.
The former Married… with Children actress added, ‘I’m finally free to reveal the true me, and in doing so, I hope in some small way you might be able to come to terms with some of your past too.’
She captioned, ‘Here we go. I can’t wait for you to read my book next month.’
