The Irish actress, 46, who plays fan-favourite character Claire Beauchamp Randall Fraser, oozed glamour as she stepped out for the show’s series eight launch.

Caitriona posed for snaps on the red carpet wearing a striking and elegant red dress for the occasion.

The piece, which featured lace detailing, also boasted a plunging neckline.

Caitriona also posed with her co-star Sam Heughan who donned a kilt for the event at Alice Tully Hall.

They were also joined by Izzy Meikle-Small, Richard Rankin, John Bell and David Berry.

Outlander’s eight series is also its last, with episodes expected to be released weekly from March 7.

The series will open as Caitriona and Sam’s characters Claire and Jamie realise the war has followed them to Fraser’s Ridge.

While the settlement is thriving and has flourished in their absence, the Frasers are faced with the question of what they are willing to sacrifice for the place they call home.

Outlander was renewed for its final series back in 2023, with Starz president of original programming paying tribute to the show in a statement.

Kathryn Busby said: ‘Before we close this chapter there is plenty of their passionate story to tell over the course of 26 new episodes.’

While lead star Caitriona said at the time in a social media post: ‘We have BIG news. Bittersweet but also very exciting that we get to continue this journey for an 8th and final season.’

The Irish beauty continued: ‘It’s been a gift beyond my wildest dreams, brought me friendships for life, stretched me as an actor and a person and now we get to give you back one more season and finish it right for all you amazing fans. Thank you for being with us on this magical journey.’

The series, based on the books by Diana Gabaldon has been a global hit, winning two BAFTA and two Critics Choice awards among many others.

Season seven, which was released in summer 2023, is based on the novel A Echo in the Bone.

A prequel for Outlander named Blood Of My Blood was released last August, with the historical drama introducing new characters.

It follows the fortunes of Claire Fraser’s mother and father during the First World War and Jamie Fraser’s parents in the early 18th-century Highlands.

The ten-episode series centered on the two parallel love stories set in different time periods.

Hermione Corfield and Jeremy Irvine play Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp, Claire Fraser’s parents.
