Being the daughter of Hollywood and rock royalty might set her apart from other students, but Apple Martin has confirmed she has the same problems as her classmates.
The 21-year old is currently is months away from her graduation after studying law, history and society at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
But in a recent beauty tutorial, filmed on behalf of Vogue and shared by her mother’s Goop lifestyle platform, Apple revealed the lengthy ritual she undertakes to conceal spots, blemishes and persistent dark circles beneath her eyes.
‘I know I still have a little bit of blemishes and such, but it was really bad in high school,’ she explained while going through her daily makeup routine on Wednesday.
‘The more that you stress about it, the worse it will get, most likely. This is all stress, so…’
With her blonde hair and slender frame, the student has drawn inevitable comparisons with her Oscar winning mother, notably during a recent appearance at the New York premiere of Marty Supreme.
Recycling an elegant Calvin Klein slip dress originally worn by Paltrow in 1996, Apple was on hand to support the actress as she promoted her latest film alongside co-star Timothée Chalamet.
‘My mom’s wardrobe from her twenties is just about my favourite thing in the entire world,’ she explained during her Vogue tutorial.
‘Over winter break, as a little grinch Christmas robbery, I went back down there and I dabbled in trying everything in.
‘I found this one pair of ’90s YSL bootcut suit pants, and she’s like “That is not appropriate to bring to college,” and I’m like, “OK, fine.”
‘But I did take those pants back to college. They make me want to do my work, they’re very like, boss babe vibe.’
Of her latest red carpet appearance in New York, she added: ‘See, that was the moment when everyone was like, “You’re your mom’s twin,” and I was like, “Thank you, I’ll take it.”‘
Apple also dismissed claims that she frequently gets her lips filled.
‘I got lip filler one time,’ she said. ‘I think I got it when I was 18. I just thought that it was too big, but everyone seems to think that I have crazy lip filler? I just pout my lips a lot, and I put on a lot of lip liner.’
The tutorial comes after Apple addressed claims that she was expelled from school for bullying.
The student – who hopes to break into acting upon graduation – reshared a past comment, stating that she wanted to share ‘just a quick little message from myself’.
‘Hi! I didn’t wanna respond but this narrative is completely false and has gotten so out of hand,’ she explained in a message to an unnamed account.
‘I have never been expelled from any school, especially not for bullying anyone.’
She added: ‘I completely understand people not liking me and that is okay! The internet is a place where ppl can share their opinions.
‘But this rumor is completely untrue, I am not that type of person and anyone who is close to me knows that.’
