Brad Stevens wants to get Evan Fournier more shots: The trade deadline addition couldn’t have had a rougher start to his Celtic career after a 0-for-10 debut last week.
Fournier hit 10 consecutive 3s at one point, spanning back to the fourth quarter of Friday’s win over the Rockets, taking advantage of defenses having to focus on so much scoring firepower around him.
Kemba Walker is embracing the pass more: The emergence of Fournier as a scoring weapon along with the addition of Robert Williams into the starting five has made many of Boston’s lineups much more dynamic offensively.
With those two shot creators out and sparkplug reserve guard Malik Monk (ankle) also sidelined indefinitely, the Hornets offense lacks a powerful punch outside of Rozier.
With the rest of the teams in the bottom half of the East playoff race (Atlanta, Miami, Boston) beginning to get healthy and putting together some wins, it’s hard to envision the Hornets finding a way to stay out of the play-in game situation despite still holding onto the fourth seed for the time being.
The Celtics probably aren’t going to save Kemba Walker for the Knicks game on Wednesday: Boston has rested their point guard for the second half of back-to-backs all year long.
