Rutgers women's basketball: Arella Guirantes drafted 22nd overall by Los Angeles Sparks in 2021 WNBA Draft

The two-time All-American and three-time All-Big Ten selection could've pursued the WNBA last year but decided to return to Piscataway because "my journey here at Rutgers wasn't finished."

The Long Island native was Rutgers' leading scorer, averaging 21.3 points per game (third in the Big Ten) to go along with 6.0 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 2.2 steals and 1.8 blocks.

Guirantes was the only player in the Big Ten to rank top five in the conference in points, assists, steals and blocks per game.

Guirantes, who finished her college career with 1,676 points, helped the Scarlet Knights navigate an arduous season that included a month-long pause due to positive COVID-19 tests within the program.

The Big Ten's leading scorer for the 2019-20 season with 20.6 points per contest, Guirantes transferred to Rutgers after spending her freshman year at Texas Tech.

Guirantes is one of several players the Scarlet Knights will have to replace next season along with three-point threat Diamond Johnson, who transferred to NC State.
