Animal Crossing: New Horizons back as UK number one – Games charts 30 January

Tom Nook beats Agent 47 (pic: Nintendo)Hitman 3 has lasted only one week at the top of the UK charts, as Animal Crossing and Mario Kart 8 shore up a Nintendo one-two.

As bad as that sounds, sales dropped by 68% in its second week which, while on the low side of the scale, is perfectly normal for major titles.

In any case, both Animal Crossing and Mario Kart saw drops in sales, with little separating any of the titles as the UK market endures a typically quiet January.

The chart above lists our best reviewed titles of 2020 but as usual does not include remakes (with the special exception of Final Fantasy 7), remasters, expansions, re-releases, compilations, games not yet released in the UK, or versions of games previously released on other formats.
