CJ McCollum, Carmelo Anthony rally Portland Trail Blazers past Toronto Raptors: Live updates recap

CJ McCollum finished with 30 points and knocked down the game-winning pull-up jumper with 9.6 seconds left to lift the Portland Trail Blazers to a 112-111 victory against the Toronto Raptors on Monday night at the Moda Center.

The Blazers (6-4) won their third game in a row, and did so after losing starting center Jusuf Nurkic to a left quad contusion in the first quarter.

As the Blazers stormed back from a 14-point deficit early in the fourth quarter, they closed the game using a smaller lineup, with Damian Lillard, McCollum, Gary Trent Jr., Carmelo Anthony and Covington.

The Portland Trail Blazers have a strong shot at winning a third consecutive game for the first time this season when they host the Toronto Raptors Monday night at the Moda Center.

The Raptors, who reached the semifinals of the Eastern Conference playoffs last season, fell to 2-7 after Sunday night’s 106-105 loss at the Golden State Warriors (6-4).

One Raptors player who has certainly continued playing winning basketball is VanVleet, who helped hold Warriors star Stephen Curry to 11 points on 2 of 16 shooting including 1 of 10 from three-point range.
