Jürgen Klopp has difficult Liverpool rotation dilemma, and must keep one eye on Man City

Compared to certain other Liverpool teams from across the Premier League era, the current crop is blessed with many highly talented players, most of whom are indispensable to the side.

It’s reasonable to assume that Alisson Becker and Virgil van Dijk would’ve featured as frequently were it not for their injury issues, but even if they had they would not have had to cover as much ground as the full-backs have.

Kostas Tsimikas signed from Olympiacos in the summer to provide cover for the Scot, but he hasn’t been in the match day squad since his debut against Lincoln City due to injury (although he was back in training at Melwood today).

And Liverpool’s away record in the Champions League Group Stage in Klopp’s time suggests a defeat could easily occur no matter who plays anyway.

Klopp needs to give them a breather somewhere soon though, with Liverpool scheduled to play 12 matches in the six weeks between the end of the forthcoming international break and the first weekend of 2021.
