Game day blog: San Diego State defeats Hawaii 34-10

San Diego State rolled up 326 rushing yards in overpowering Hawaii, 34-10, today at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif.

The Warriors’ best drive of the half ended in disaster — back-side linebacker Segun Olubi intercepts Chevan Cordeiro and runs 71 yards the other way for a touchdown.

The Aztecs sprint for another touchdown, with Greg Bell using a jump to burst up the middle for 62 yards and a 14-0 lead with 1:08 left in the first quarter.

Jordan Byrd goes 51 yards on a sprint around left end and down the sideline to give the Aztecs’ a 7-0 lead with 3:26 to play in the first quarter.

CARSON, Calif. >> A pair of 2-1 football teams — Hawaii and San Diego State — square off today in Dignity Health Sports Park.

The Aztecs are designated as the home team despite the game being played in Carson, Calif, 112 miles from their San Diego campus.
