2020 MLB awards: Mookie Betts is a finalist for NL MVP; no Boston Red Sox players in the running for end-of-season ...

Unsurprisingly, the Red Sox will be shut out MLB’s postseason awards in 2020.

But one prominent former member of the team has a chance to add some hardware.

Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts is one of three finalists for the National League MVP award , along with Atlanta' Freddie Freeman and San Diego’s Manny Machado.

Betts, who helped the Dodgers win their first World Series since 1988 after being traded by the Red Sox in February, hit .292 with 16 homers and 39 RBIs in 55 games during his inaugural season in Los Angeles.

Zero Red Sox were named finalists for the major BBWAA awards (MVP, Cy Young, Rookie of the Year and Manager of the Year).

Betts wasn’t the only former member of the Red Sox to be named an award finalist Monday afternoon.
