'Sonic The Hedgehog' Announcement Could Follow Cryptic Tweet

With Sonic the Hedgehog getting ready to celebrate his 30th anniversary next year, a new image shared by Sega could be hinting at something big from the furry, blue blur.

Since his arrival on the 16-bit Sega Genesis in 1991, Sonic has been a global superstar who has starred in several video games, served as Sega’s mascot, been in three cartoon series voiced by Jaleel “Steve Urkel” White, and just last year, starred in a motion picture opposite Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik.

A new game or two as well as several announcements are expected on that front, but for now, everyone will have to be content with analyzing a post from his official Twitter account.

This was followed by Mike Pollock, the voice actor for Dr. Eggman in the 2014 “Sonic Boom” animated series, posting a link to a “Schoolhouse Rock” video about three being a magic number.

In this era of 4K resolutions and incredibly fast frame rates, one can only imagine what a full-blown, full-speed and three-dimensional Sonic would look like, particularly for the coming PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
