No. 24 Copley remains unbeaten in playoff warmup with 10-7 squeaker over No. 15 Aurora

AURORA, Ohio — What better way is there to prepare for the playoffs than by beating a team that won its region last year?

With three forced turnovers, the Copley Indians, who finished 2-8 last season, kept their 2020 record perfect by defeating the Aurora Greenmen, 10-7, at Veterans Stadium Friday in a Suburban League American Division clash.

Having only won five games in the past two years, Copley has to feel good about already exceeding that total.

This time, if it wasn’t for a magnificent catch by Aurora junior wide receiver Ryan Weber with less than four minutes remaining, the Greenmen would have been the team that was shut out.

Every time he motioned in the beginning of the game, [Moore] threw a wheel or a post,” Pringle said.

Three-year starting quarterback Joe Reho made a veteran play to find junior running back Preston Taylor, who sprinted 87 yards for the score.
