Le'Veon Bell released by Jets: Could Patriots be a landing spot for star RB?

Could they roll the dice on another former Pittsburgh Steelers star in running back Le’Veon Bell ?

After reportedly seeking a trade partner for their disgruntled running back, the New York Jets announced that they had outright released Bell Tuesday night, making him a free agent immediately.

That was after Bell sat out the entire 2018 season amid a contract dispute with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

As ESPN’s Field Yates notes, the Jets are still on the hook to pay Bell $6 million this season.

As ESPN noted , Bell declined to speak to reporters after this past Sunday’s game and liked tweets that said he is being misused by the Jets.

Bill Belichick and the Patriots have a long history of taking disgruntled players, turning them around and unleashing them on the rest of the league.
