2021 NFL Draft: How the QB class looks in early-season action

What we’ve seen so far: Trask picked apart an overwhelmed Ole Miss secondary on Saturday to the tune of six touchdown passes – four that went to Kyle Pitts, who made a strong case as the nation’s best tight end.

What we’ve seen so far: Ehlinger opened his senior season with an easy win over UTEP and then had to engineer a comeback victory in a shootout vs. Texas Tech on Saturday.

While Texas’ offense could revert to looking like last year’s unit (which struggled at times), Ehlinger has continued to show progression as a passer over the past two seasons.

He’s not a prototypical pro quarterback prospect from a tools perspective and may not be for everyone, but the improvement and competitive nature along with power run ability in short yardage situations certainly work in his favor.

What we’ve seen so far: Jones looked comfortable at the controls of Alabama’s offense and fed star receivers Jaylen Waddle and DeVonta Smith to the tune of 16 receptions.

Much of the public conversation with Jones will revolve around if he can hold onto the starting job over the course of the season with true freshman and former five-star Bryce Young waiting in the wings.
