Rangers' Danny Santana, the hitter, feels like he's returned to 2019 form after IL stint

When Danny Santana last played at Globe Life Field on July 28 against the Arizona Diamondbacks, it looked as if something might be off.

One of the Rangers top hitters in 2019, he struck out three times that night and started the season 1-for-17 with eight strikeouts.

We didn’t want to risk it at all, if he makes one hard throw, have that thing blow and miss over a year.

Santana was the DH on Monday, and Woodward said that he hopes to have clearance to have him play the infield within a week and then the outfield in short order.

He was a Major League field coordinator, assistant general manager, and interim bench coach.

Most recently he was the Major League Player Development Field Coordinator in 2019 under Woodward.
