Health alert for multiple brands of taquitos and chimichangas due to possible plastic


The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service has issued a public health alert for multiple brands of taquitos and chimichangas including Jose Ole, Great Value and Casa Mamita due to possible hard plastic contamination.


The beef and chicken taquitos and chimichangas contain diced green chilies that have been recalled by the producer, Sun Valley Foods, because they may be contaminated with hard plastic.


According to the notice from the USDA, "The hard plastic may pose a choking hazard or cause damage to teeth or gums.
