Mavericks, Chime Donating $500 to non-profits for every free-throw made

Challenger banking and the Mavericks’ official Jersey Patch sponsor, have launched Chime in for a Cause , a new initiative that will use the NBA relaunch to raise funds and awareness for eight local charities.

“We have a longstanding history of making a difference for others and this initiative is just another big way the Mavs organization is stepping up,” said Dallas Mavericks CEO Cynt Marshall .

Among many other efforts, money donated through the initiative will provide support towards financial education, business skill building, breaking the cycle of poverty and addressing the historic and contemporary effects of racism.

Participants that donate $20 or more to the Mavs Foundation will be entered into a sweepstakes with the grand prize winner receiving an Equality Jersey signed by Seth Curry, Luka Dončić, Dorian Finney-Smith, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Kristaps Porziņģis.

Since announcing their partnership earlier this year, the Mavs and Chime have collaborated on many community initiatives including the Venture – Entrepreneurial Expedition and the Young Women Preparatory Graduation .

The Mavs compete in the National Basketball Association as a member of the Western Conference and play at American Airlines Center under the direction of Coach Rick Carlisle, General Manager Donnie Nelson, CEO Cynt Marshall and Owner Mark Cuban.
