National Hockey League

With NHL season paused, a ranking of Capitals' best wins of 2019-20: No. 12

12, a 4-2 win against the Calgary Flames on Nov. 3 that featured a hat trick for a player not named Alex Ovechkin and a lot of love for the newest champions in town.

The Caps got back on the board in the second as Kuznetsov's clearing attempt turned into a breakaway opportunity for Vrana.

Cam Talbot saved the first shot, but Vrana tucked the rebound home in the lower corner for his first career hat trick.

Lars Eller scored top shelf from a tough angle in the third to prevent any sort of comeback from the Flames.

But with the newly minted World Series champions in the house, most fans spent the evening watching the Nationals rather than the action on the ice.

When we start thinking about the Capitals post-Ovechkin Era, Vrana must be considered one of the main pieces to build around for the future.
