Shaq Lawson pens heartfelt goodbye letter to Bills Mafia: 'Buffalo will always have special place in my heart'

The Buffalo Bills lost edge rusher Shaq Lawson on Monday when he signed a three-year, $30 million deal with the Miami Dolphins on the first day of the legal tampering period of free agency.

“It’s with sincere sadness that I confirm my time in Buffalo has come to an end,” Lawson wrote in a statement released on Twitter.

“My love for Western New York and Bills Mafia is something that is strong and will not soon be forgotten.”

That’s the kind of money (potentially up to $12 million per season) that Buffalo just couldn’t afford.

More importantly, they trusted me t be a key piece to the culture change that has turned this into a championship caliber organization.”

"Buffalo, you will always have a special place in my heart as my first NFL team, and as a city that is truly full of good neighbors.
