Colorado's oldest craft brewery will close its only brewpub this month

The company announced back in October that it would downsize, discontinue national distribution and only sell its beers out of that Boulder taproom.

Boulder Beer owner Gina Day wrote in a letter to fans on Monday that she could not pass up the opportunity to sell the brewery’s real estate.

“Moving forward … you will still be able to find our beer on draft and in six packs at your favorite liquor stores, groceries, bars and restaurants,” Day wrote.

She added that Boulder Beer’s remaining staff would have opportunities with the brand’s sister company, Concept Restaurants .

“Boulder Beer has made a conscious effort to arrange employment for all 30 members of our full and part time staff with Concept Restaurants, of which Gina’s husband Frank Day is the Founder,” Tess McFadden, Boulder Beer’s director of marketing, said via email Monday afternoon.

“Opportunities exist at his new restaurant Su Taco opening later this month in downtown Denver on Larimer, the Hotel Boulderado, Stout Street Social and the Table Mountain Inn.”
