Alex Nylander eager for the battle of the brothers as William Nylander and the Maple Leafs visit the Blackhawks


Alex, now with the Blackhawks, faces his brother and fellow winger for the third time Sunday night at the United Center, and he was plenty excited about it before the game.


William, the older brother by two years, had an assist in each game and Alex scored a goal in the most recent meeting.

Alex, whose mission this season has been proving his value and case for ice time to the Hawks, said he and William learned a lot from their father, Michael, a 15-year NHL center who spent four seasons in Chicago.

For Sunday night, Alex had a few friends in attendance, but he said most of the family would be watching from home in Sweden — with divided loyalties.
