Toronto Raptors NBA Finals championship parade: Date, start time, route

They haven’t watched the ticker tape snake through the air in Toronto since Nirvana was still a band and we were still soaking in the first Jurassic Park movie.

But 16 years later, Jurassic Park is going to break loose once again, this time with Raptors fans lining the streets of Toronto to celebrate the city’s first professional sports championship since the Blue Jays World Series win in 1993.

Not only is this Toronto’s first championship in almost two decades, but it’s the first time the Raptors have brought home a title in franchise history.

Some may try and put an asterisk on the title since Kevin Durant played less than a half and Klay Thompson was taken out of Game 6 with a knee injury, but don’t take anything away from Toronto.

Nick Nurse’s team went into Oracle and defeated a mighty dynasty, but also bested the likes of the Greek Freak and the Sixers along the way.

The Raptors earned this title, and that’s what the celebration will embody — a city and a fandom that has finally after all of these years reached the pinnacle.
