Mike Soroka looks to spark a rebound for Braves against Cardinals

Again, I’m not trying to compare a 21-year-old kid from Canada to one of the greatest pitchers to ever hurl a baseball, but I’m just trying to point out that Mike Soroka has gotten off to a fantastic start this season.

MLB.com’s quick preview of the game went even further to explain just how good Soroka has been to start this year’s campaign (and his career, in general):

Soroka has yet to face any of the Cardinals batters, but you’ll probably hear the announcing crew talk about how the pitcher has the advantage in this type of situation.

While it wasn’t nearly enough to win last night, getting a handful of runs against Michael Wacha might be all the help that Mike Soroka needs with the way he’s been pitching.

Hopefully we’ll see the opposite of what happened last night, which would be seeing the Braves jump on the Cardinals early and taking control of the game right from the start of things.

If we get another great start from Mike Soroka, then a rebound will absolutely be in the cards for the Braves this evening.
