Jose Ramirez dropped to 5th in Cleveland Indians' lineup; Oscar Mercado coming up?

In two more potential moves, Francona implied that outfielder Tyler Naquin could be headed for the injured list with a strained left calf and right-hander Mike Clevinger is in line to throw a bullpen Tuesday at Guaranteed Rate Field.

If Naquin goes on the IL, it could mean the promotion of prospect Oscar Mercado, who opened the Indians’ eyes in spring training.

Clevinger has not thrown off the mound since training a muscle in his right shoulder during a start on April 7.

Naquin missed Saturday’s and Sunday’s games in Oakland with a tight left calf.

Thompson, who went to spring training on a minor league deal, is hitting .293 (22-for-101) with six homers and 18 RBI at Columbus.
