DJI Goes After GoPro With New Osmo Action Camera

Back in 2016, GoPro tried to rival DJI ‘s renowned drones by releasing the Karma, but failing to appeal to the market, the model was shortly discontinued.

Outside, the Osmo holds two color screens: a 2.25-inch touchscreen on the back and a 1.4-inch display on the front.

Image quality-wise, the Osmo utilizes a 1/2.3-inch sensor capable of taking 12-megapixel photos — either JPEG or RAW — and can shoot 4K video at up to 60 frames per second at 100 Mbps.

On top of the sensor is a glass aspherical lens designed to reduce distortion and warping, finished with an anti-fingerprint and anti-reflective coating.

It’s also capable of shooting HDR video at an extra three stops of dynamic range, allowing the camera to capture abundant detail even in low light conditions.

If you’re looking to buy one, the DJI Osmo Action Camera will be available May 22 at a retail price of $349 USD, but you can head over to Adorama now to pre-order one.
