Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell's acts of goodness have him up for Seasonlong NBA Cares Community Assist Award

And the $25,000 scholarship he surprised Naja Brooks, the daughter of his fourth-grade teacher, with following the March 21 game in Atlanta.

"I just wanted to make sure everybody was OK," Mitchell told Ryan McDonald of the Deseret News following Game 4.

So, to no surprise, Mitchell was named a finalist for the 2018-19 Seasonlong NBA Cares Community Assist Award.

Comment on this story The winner will be announced during the annual NBA Awards event on Monday, June 24, where that player will receive $25,000 to their charity of choice.

Jarrett Allen, Bradley Beal, Mike Conley, Tobias Harris, LeBron James, Damian Lillard, Khris Middleton, Dwight Powell and Pascal Siakam are the other nine finalists for the award.
