The Nets' competition for Tobias Harris comes into focus

The Post reported Brooklyn’s interest in bringing Long Islander Tobias Harris back home in free agency months ago.

Sources have told The Post if the Nets can’t land Kevin Durant they would love to have Harris on their side next season.

He shot 39.7 from 3-point range and is a solid citizen — Harris joined Brooklyn’s Jarrett Allen as a finalist for the NBA Cares Community Assist Award — but is on his fourth team in four years.

The Nets have long coveted Harris, and his stellar plus-18.4 in their first-round series — highest on either team — only solidified that interest.

Atkinson has known Harris since the latter’s schoolboy days at Half Hollow Hills West High School.

The Post’s Marc Berman reported last week that Harris’ 94-year-old grandmother has lived her whole life in Bedford-Stuyvesant and he even dropped in for a visit during the playoff series.
