Parking garages at Dallas Love Field flood after storms bring heavy rains and gusty winds to Dallas-Fort Worth

Showers and thunderstorms rolled through North Texas Tuesday afternoon and into Wednesday morning, causing flooded roadways, power outages and perhaps some fires linked to lightning.

The Lewisville Office of Emergency Management asked motorists to avoid northbound Josey Lane, south of Windhaven Parkway because of flooding.

Lightning also was thought to be the culprit behind a house fire that damaged a home in Lucas, officials said.

Much of North Texas is under a flash flood watch through Wednesday evening, including Dallas, Denton, Collin and Tarrant counties.

The weather service cautioned that areas with poor drainage, as well as creeks, rivers and streams could flood.

The weather service also issued a flood warning for White Rock Creek at Greenville Avenue until Wednesday afternoon.
