Mario Kart Tour Closed Beta Begins May 22

Nintendo is set to return to mobile devices this summer with the launch of free-to-start title Mario Kart Tour.

As Siliconera reports , Nintendo announced that a closed beta for Mario Kart Tour will be running from May 22 through to June 4.

It will follow the same free-to-start formula by being free to download and play, but supported by microtransactions that will inevitably generate millions of dollars for the company.

The game was meant to launch earlier this year, but in January Nintendo announced a delay without explanation.

Although Nintendo will have tight security around the closed beta, it would be surprising if screenshots and even video footage didn't leak.

Prior to joining the team, he spent 14 years writing and editing content on our sister site and has covered most areas of technology, but is especially passionate about games tech.
