Michigan vs. Minnesota in Big Ten tourney: Scouting report, prediction

Michigan’s Charles Matthews discusses his return to the starting lineup in 74-53 win over Iowa in Big Ten tournament quarterfinals March 15, 2019.

Michigan's offense, with a brief exception in the first half, didn't go through the brutal droughts that have plagued the team too often the past 10 games.

Sizing up Minnesota: The Gophers may be playing their best basketball of the season at the moment, paced by talented big man Jordan Murphy — who racked up 27 points, eight rebounds and four assists Friday night to lead an upset win over Purdue .

Michigan beat the Gophers at the buzzer in Ann Arbor, and led by more than 20 in the second half before finishing with a nine-point win Feb. 21 in Minneapolis.

As important: If Michigan gets the type of balanced offensive performance it had against Iowa, it could be a 10th consecutive win for the Wolverines at the Big Ten tournament.
