Game Notes: Creighton at Marquette Sunday at 2pm

In the first matchup this year, Sam Hauser’s 3-pointer as time expired in regulation forced overtime and Marquette was able to hold off the Bluejays 106-104 on Jan. 9 in Omaha, Nebraska.

MU posted an 80-68 victory in the opening round at the BMO Harris Bradley Center en route to an appearance in the event’s quarterfinals.

Theo John leads the BIG EAST with 64 blocked shots inside, and Nebraska transfer Ed Morrow has provided 5.6 points and 3.9 rebounds in 14.3 minutes per game as a reserve.

Harry had 56 points, 60 rebounds and four blocked shots in 20 games (248 minutes) last season for Marquette after becoming eligible in January after transferring in from SMU.

Greg McDermott is 59-4 as a Division I head coach when his teams score 90 or more points, including a 53-4 mark on the Creighton sideline.

As the final week of the regular season approaches, Marquette has already clinched a top-two finish in the league and now has its sights set on the program’s first-ever outright BIG EAST?title.
