ECU looking to finish this time versus Memphis

(Photo: Justin Ford, USA TODAY Sports)When East Carolina and Memphis met on the hardwood in Tennessee earlier this season, the Pirates felt like they let one slip away.

Leading for most of the game, including by double digits early in the second half, ECU couldn't finish in an eventual 78-72 loss to Memphis on Jan. 10.

The Pirates will get a chance to right that wrong when they host the Tigers in a rematch on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. inside Minges Coliseum.

Senior guard Jeremiah Martin leads Memphis in scoring at an average of 18.5 points per game.

Kyvon Davenport (14.8 points per game) and Tyler Harris (12.1 ppg) are also averaging double figures in scoring.

"We can't have any live-ball turnovers, give up second-chance points and we've got to stay keyed in to what coach tells us to do," sophomore guard Shawn Williams said.
