NC State students stole part of former basketball court at Reynolds Coliseum ...

Four N.C. State University students turned themselves in to police Monday on charges that they stole sections of the old basketball court at Reynolds Coliseum last month.

A fifth student, from Wake Technical Community College, is also charged in the case, said Maj. David Kelly with the N.C. State campus police.

Police say the men wore masks and entered Reynolds Coliseum on Dec. 7, stealing two 5-foot-by-8-foot wooden panels from a storage area.

Kelly said the panels, valued at $1,300 each, were recovered, but one was damaged beyond repair.

The students have been charged with felony larceny and misdemeanor injury to personal property and wearing a mask or hood in a public place, according to police records.

The William Neal Reynolds Coliseum, known as the “Old Barn,” opened in 1949.
