Army-Navy game is Bill Belichick's first football memory

FOXBORO — In advance of Saturday’s annual Army versus Navy game, Patriots coach Bill Belichick recalled his memories of the rivalry, dating all the way back to the 1950s.

The time spent around the Navy practice field with his father, Steve Belichick, fueled Bill’s desire to become a coach.

Second-year pro Torry McTyer and veteran Bobby McCain, who plays in the slot in Miami’s nickel defense, likely round out the group.

Cornerback Stephon Gilmore (ankle) and tight end Dwayne Allen (knee) are the only players listed with injury designations for the Miami game.

Allen, who has missed the past two games, was upgraded to a full practice participant, which bodes well for his chances of returning to the field.

Deserving of honor The Patriots nominated Devin McCourty for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award earlier this week.
