BREAKING: Star player ruled out of T20I series with knee injury

The current World Champions are already missing some of their star performers Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis, Samuel Badree and Sunil Narine due to various reasons as they take on India in the opener at Kolkata.

Off spinner Ashley Nurse was also ruled out of the series a few days earlier with a shoulder injury sustained during the 4th ODI against India.

The tourists suffered yet another massive blow in the form of their star all rounder Andre Russel ruled out of the entire series ruled out of the entire series with a knee injury just a day ahead of the opening encounter.

It was later revealed in a statement released by the West Indies Cricket Board that Russel had injured his knee and would be unable to be a part of the team’s proceedings in the T20I series against India.

Shai Hope, who was among the few players among the runs for the Windies in the recently concluded ODI series against the same opposition, has been named in the squad as a replacement for the hard hitting all rounder.

The injury to Russel might certainly turn the tides around for the men in blue, who will be keen to extend their domination over the visitors into the shortest format of the game as well.
